Travel Scrapbooking

Scrapbooks are an ideal way to preserve family memories for a lifetime.

The most pleasing scrapbook pages have a neat, cohesive look—interesting, but not too busy. A great way to achieve this is by repeating visual elements, such as a label style, a typeface, or a patterned trim. Using library pockets or transparent envelopes to hold small, loose items will preserve memorabilia you don’t wish to fasten down, while also keeping your page tidy. Here are some of our favorite techniques for creating beautifully designed scrapbook pages.
Stamp the letters you wish to use from our ornamental alphabet set onto a sheet of paper near the edge. When ink has dried, insert paper into craft punch with stamp visible through the window. Align and punch.
Apply transfer to your chosen paper (we’ve used the frame only and saved the message for another project). Cut out carefully with craft scissors. Write or transfer your message inside and add label to your scrapbook page.
Use an edge punch to punch a decorative border from a strip of colored paper. Keeping a flower shape in the center, fold back the paper ends as shown to make a photo corner. Trim excess and tape seam. Slip corners onto photo before attaching them to page. Variation: Glue a punched circle shape onto the back of a plain photo corner (see top left of cover photo).
