These fancy paper flowers will brighten up any party.
A bit of folding, some tape, and a few quick snips of the scissors turn our colorful crafting
paper into these astonishing three-dimensional flowers. Start with 12 x 12in sheets for
smaller blooms, or use 18 x 18in sheets for flowers on a really grand scale.
Turn 12 x 12in paper facedown. Use bone
folder to score lines at the following intervals,
starting from left edge: 2in, 14in, 14in, 3in, 14in,
and 14in. (Note: For 18 x 18in paper, score at 23/4in,
2in, 2in, 45in, 2in, and 2in.) Fold at score lines
to form two peaks as shown. Apply a 12-inch strip
of tissue tape along right edge. Fold both peaks
toward center followed by both edges of paper;
overlap and attach edges. Score piece across
middle. Apply tissue tape at edges as shown, then
fold in half along score line, pressing to secure tape.
Punch holes about 4in from bottom using
our Binder Hole edge punch. Trim top edge into
petal shape. Repeat entire process with two more
sheets of paper. Apply tissue tape to front side of
one folded piece; fasten a second folded piece on
top, and repeat with the third to form a taped
stack of three. Thread a length of craft seam
binding through stacked holes and knot loosely,
leaving some slack. Open stack and fan to form a
flower shape. Join the end petals with tissue tape
as shown. Suspend with craft seam binding.
